Day 28 - Discovered a pigeon nest!

A few weeks ago, my grandma discovered a pigeon egg on the carpet in the back stairwell to the roof! She says this is the third year these pigeons have laid eggs there. It was my first time seeing a pigeon! The egg was bigger than I expected.

And there were the pigeon parents, hanging out by the window sill.

Days later, we noticed the egg moved to a corner behind the broom with a tiny nest in progress.

A few days after that, we noticed there were 2 eggs! 

A few days after that, the pigeon mom came back to lay on the eggs. We had a feeling they were going to hatch soon after noticing mama pigeon was staying and laying on the eggs without a flinch whenever we went out to take a peek.

And it happened! Grandma found cracked egg shells but we couldn’t see the baby pigeons! Then the following few weeks, mama pigeon finally left the nest! She probably went out to look for food. It was my first time seeing baby pigeons! Eyes weren’t even opened yet. It was pretty exciting! Spring has sprung!

Today, a week later, their eyes opened and you can tell their feathers were growing!
