Day 29 - Grandma cooks up a storm
My grandma had a busy day preparing traditional chinese dishes, ones you see at dim sum. Delicious home made Taro cake and my favorite red bean mochi.
It took all day for her just to prep! Cutting the Taro, chopping the meat and mushrooms, making the flour mix, stir frying the meat, then putting it together to cook.

And so she made four platters for the family!
Then she started making the red bean fried mochis from scratch! She started with boiling the red beans and using the cheese cloth to drain the water. And I helped with crushing the sugar blocks. Next making the mochi from scratch.
It took her many hours to prepare just the mochi. Kneading the dough to the right consistency.
Nice and toasty after frying them! One of my favorite treats!
A tasty treat for the entire family! Breakfast for days, I’m so happy!
