Day 41 - Making Dim Sum with Grandma

Yesterday, it took grandma all day to prepare the ingredients to make two dim sum dishes.

Last night, we made these till 12:30am.

This morning, it took grandma 4 hours to steam everything. So delicious! My sunt came to make a food trade at 1:30pm. The dark one is called Lo See Gnai in taoisan, I have no idea what its called in english. It’s sweet, a plant root with flour mixed exterior, inside is peanuts, sugar, coconut, and sesame. The white one is called Fun Gaw in cantonese, also don’t know what its called in english. It’s Dim sum in general is the easiest to call these. It’s salty, exterior is like the Ha Gao (shrimp dumpling skin) exterior, inside with a variety if veggies and pork. Let’s see what grandma will make next!
